Halloween Doormat

DIYHalloweenMatPost2

Creating a welcoming yet spooky door is always on my Halloween to-do list. This year I decided to upcycle a doormat and give it a BOO-tiful makeover. With kids, pets, and visitors constantly moving in and out, everyday front door mats can wear out pretty quickly, but don’t toss it – recreate it!

This craft was so simple and adds the perfect finishing touch to my Halloween entryway. Now, all that’s left to do is stock up on treats!

Supplies:

  • Rubber Mat
  • Iron
  • Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Paintbrush
  • Spray adhesive
  • Polyurethane
  • How to make:
    1. Iron the Halloween fabric
    2. Measure the fabric so that you have 2 inches excess beyond the mat size
    3. Cut your fabric accordingly
    4. Apply the spray adhesive to the fabric as well as the flat side of your rubber mat
    5. Fold in the corners
    6. Let dry for 30 minutes
    7. Apply 3-4 coats of Polyurethane waiting about 40 minutes in between each
